So today myself and my best mate took a trip down to Marwell Zoo near Winchester (UK). This was the first time i had been to a zoo for as long as i could remember so i was just a little excited, firstly by the fact of the enormous variety of animals that i was going to see and secondly just thinking about the number of photo opportunities that should come along.

We arrived around mid day and headed straight to the penguin enclosure, grabbing as many shots as i could before realising that shooting in RAW format takes up a lot of room on the memory cards and as i only had 2 512MB cards i had better take it easy if i was to last all day.

All was going so well until we entered a dark room to get some shots of some nocturnal animals, i pumped up the ISO setting on my camera as far as it would go.......... then forgot to set it back again!!!!

It wasn't until i got home that i realised what i had done as i sat looking at all these incredibly noisy, grainy shots, not even lightroom can save most of these!!

I suppose it gives me a good incentive to go back and take some more, however it looks like i'll be waiting till the end of next month when i get my 300mm lens and will try again, checking all settings before every shot!

Apart from that we had a great day and will have to try and find a few more zoo's round the area to see some different animals.
